C'è la ricerca degli ultimi anni, c'è il Free, lo Spiritual Jazz, non solo nei samples ma anche nell'attitudine. Pezzi come "Short Jam" sono sequenze improvvisate live senza alcun ritocco in post-produzione. Ma l'Hip Hop rimane sempre l'inizio e la fine del viaggio, talvolta palesato in breaks di batteria storici.

Da un punto di vista emotivo "Holding Together" è un tentativo di tenere insieme i pezzi quando la barca scricchiola.
Ma rivela anche la consapevolezza che i tempi che viviamo richiedono unità e voglia di guardare insieme al futuro.
